By Hester Dapperen on 15/12/200615/12/2023

The series of Striped paintings are a mix of stripes mixed with role models and industrial buildings.
Is a reflection of the model life of our inventive but also surrealistic and unpredictable world.
It’s the fine line, between belonging to the top or beïng out of demand.
Materials used are linen, embroidery, oil paint, ink and mixed media.
The picture shows a contemporary fairy tale with the ugly, the innocent and the strange.
Contemporary visual artist Hester van Dapperen likes to use in her paintings the contrast of raw and refined materials, she also experiment with new materials.
The series of paintings with the Title ‘Stripes’ its is a mixed image story of history and the present time of the Netherlands. The style is Now art, Contemporary art and has components of Pop art.
