This section of van Dapperens’ minimal art paintings is all about people. In this series called Profiles she uses pigments and oil on linen to create abstract shapes of characters on a colourfield background.
“The search I am after is what in man,in human beings keeps a low profile. In life you represent someone, you are someone, but who are you, really? Your name, age, profession, health, life-story. Who are you in essence? Introverted people open themselves up for the outside world and the extrovert is absorbed into his inner world, They undergo both a new experience which impart more understanding for each other and broaden their horizons. But what comes next. Who are you really ?”
